The 2nd Annual DC Africa Festival hosted by the D.C Mayor’s Office on African Affairs and is fairly new project. The festival is a way to bring the community together and ones to witness the showcasing of Africa’s cultures and economic contributions to the District of Columbia.
This year’s theme was “One City, Many Voices: showcasing Africa’s cultural and economic contributions to the District of Columbia.” And this year’s festival featured a large variety of activities ranging from art displays to dance performances and an array of foods.
It was an honor to contribute to the fashion presentation by Apuje Kalu, a freelance fashion stylist in Washington D.C and work alongside other designers like Artaya and Cote Minou to represent the fashions of the four corners of Africa.
Models were wearing a variety of Nanichi’s accessories from various collections.
