The New Year has brought with it plenty New Year resolutions, styles and Nanichi once again. During these short months Nanichi has managed to tear the runways up and now designer/CEO Ilka Harrigan literally closes that chapter and opens a new in her career.
Ilka Harrigan has never failed to impress and many are fascinated with her work ethic and drive, pondering on how she does it all while being a full time student with a part time job.
Her spring 2011 designs were inspired by bright colors while her signature pieces have definitely grown bigger over the years
.On January 2011 Nanichi launched an online boutique which has since sold in three continents and the Caribbean region.
On February 26th 2011 Nanichi had a segment in the Voyage to Utopia Fashion Show hosted by the Marymount University African Caribbean Student Association, Black Student Alliance and Latino Student Association. Its aim is to showcase both the modern and traditional fashions of Caribbean, African, and Latino cultures. All proceeds from the show went to Martha’s Table and Kakenya’s Dream.
On March 26th 2011 Nanichi was featured in the Runway Fusion 5th Anniversary Fashion Show hosted by Models Inc of Washington D.C Once again Nanichi had its own segment in the show.
On April 29th 2011 Nanichi travelled to New York to SUNY New Paltz where Nanichi received its own segment of over twenty models. The show was put together by Caribbash (The Caribbean Students Organization). This was their first year having a jewelry segment in the show.
On May 5th 2011 Nanichi headed to Maryland University where the lovely models dressed in various black ensembles showcased the jewelry. Nanichi represented the natural, earthy scene.
Apart from fashion shows, Nanichi has provided jewelry for various photo shoots.
